Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy applies to everyone who uses Sofa.st, and to every chatbot built on it. It forms part of our Terms of Service. We enforce it because a chatbot you publish reaches the public under our infrastructure and our payment providers, and their rules apply to it as much as ours do.

1. Prohibited content

You must not upload, index, or configure a chatbot to produce:

• Sexual or adult content. Pornography, sexually explicit material, erotica, nudity, escort or sexual-services listings, and companion or roleplay bots of a sexual nature. This applies whether the content is uploaded by you or generated by the chatbot in response to visitors.
• Child sexual abuse material. Any sexualised content involving minors, in any form, real or generated. We report this to the competent authorities and terminate the account immediately, without refund.
• Illegal goods and services. Drugs and controlled substances, weapons and explosives, stolen goods or data, forged documents and identities, counterfeit items, unlicensed gambling, money laundering, and any other activity unlawful where you or your visitors are located.
• Harassment, hate, and violence. Content that harasses, bullies, threatens, or doxxes a person, that incites or glorifies violence, or that attacks people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
• Deception and fraud. Phishing, malware, scams, pyramid or Ponzi schemes, fake reviews and testimonials, impersonation of a person or organisation, and chatbots that misrepresent themselves as a human when directly asked.
• Regulated advice presented as authoritative. Medical, legal, or financial advice offered without the qualifications and disclosures your jurisdiction requires.

2. Prohibited conduct

• Spam. Using the Service, or a chatbot built on it, to send or facilitate unsolicited bulk messages, or to drive traffic to content that does.
• Scraping and unauthorised indexing. The crawler may only be pointed at sites you own or have permission to index. Do not use it to copy a third party's content, to circumvent a paywall, login, or robots.txt, or to harvest personal data.
• Infringement. Uploading or indexing content you do not hold the rights to, including copyrighted material and third-party databases.
• Unlawful personal data. Indexing special-category personal data — health, biometrics, political or religious beliefs, sexual orientation — or any personal data you have no lawful basis to process, and exposing it through a public chatbot.
• Abuse of the platform. Attempting to breach tenant isolation, reach another customer's data, extract our prompts or models, bypass plan limits, resell raw model access, or overload the infrastructure.

3. You are responsible for your chatbot's answers

A chatbot answers from the content you gave it. That makes the content you upload, and what your chatbot says to your visitors, your responsibility. If you deploy a chatbot to the public, you must make clear that it is an automated assistant and that its answers may be inaccurate.

4. Enforcement

We investigate reports and may suspend a chatbot, suspend an account, or terminate it outright. Serious violations — illegal content, fraud, or anything that puts our payment providers at risk — are acted on immediately and without notice. Where a violation is unintentional and fixable we will normally contact you first. Termination for a violation of this policy does not entitle you to a refund of the current period.

5. Reporting a violation

If you have found a chatbot built on Sofa.st that breaks these rules, email [email protected] with the widget's address and what you saw. We read every report.
